Hello all,

As you can see i am new to these forums, but not new to owning fish :D

Anyway...

Wednesday: I found a dead Swordtail (it used to have white spot, but i cured it not sure if that caused it anyway)
Thursday: I found the Mother Baloon Molly Dead... (unknown cause)
Friday: I found a baby molly dead (unknown)

BTW: the babys are about 5-6 months old and easily bigger than my neons

I tested the water yesterday an all was ok :good:

But i have no idea what has caused this ?

Thanks

Your tanks overstocked.
What test kit are you using.
The black widow tetra really need no less than 15 gals.

Do you feed any red foods like bloodworms.

Overstocked: Shouldn't be, my tank is supposed to hold about 23 fish with good air flow ( I have two big airstones with a pump capable of 100litre tank)

Test Kits: Tetratec something (can't remember name, will post up later)

Black widow: i know they don't need much, my first takn was only 20 litre ( have had black widow 2 years)

Do you feed any red foods like bloodworms.

Sometimes i feed blood worms, not very often though

Only you can keep in a 12 gal tank is about 14 small fish.
Are you using test strip cards.
Do you feed any red foods as red poo can be a sign of camallanous worms.

Test strips: Not cards, a plastic container which i fill to 5ml, then add the drops from the kits

Red foods: I have sinking food, which is red, but blood worms every 3 months or so.

You need to improve there diet with more frozen food twice a week like brime shrimp and daphnia.
Also introduce some green veg into there diet.

Without any symtoms it's hard to say why they died.
How old were the other 2 livebearers.

Age: They were about 5-6 months
Mother: ?

It;s hard to say with no symtoms and water results.

No signs of flicking and rubbing or laboured breathing.
Did you treat for another week after spots had gone.
Once you lose quite a few fish they say to back up with a bacterial med if no symtoms of parasites.
