3 dead neons and 1 dead platty

Test the ph of the bag when you get home, then climitise them gradually to your ph, doing it very slowly adding abit of water, if there is a big difference in ph it can take many hours, you have to keep adding the water slowly, then keeping testing the ph till it matches your tank..

The main problem i get is once the bag has been opened it then colappeses in on itself. I always think its going to sufficate the fish.

Do you have a bucket or big jug as i find that better as you don't really wan't to be putting the lfs water into your tank, can be full of nasties.

Thats a good idea.

I do have a cut off 2 litre bottle. I'll add them into that next time and then aclimitate them slowly.

How long can they last in that water with no oxygen, no heater and no filter?

They will be ok but you have to keep an eye on the temp, i usually do it in the sink putting some water in the sink, and keeping a close eye on the temp.

I'll have to see if i can get a pot to sit in the water so the temperature will stay constant.

Good luck with your next purchase.
