In the last 3 days i have lost 5 red eye tetras 1 diamond tetra, 2 harlequins & a clown loach

i have not added any new fish or plants, their food is the same, water levels are all A ok

my gouramies, mollies (including babies) and my sharks are all fine, i have 1 diamond tetra left whos not looking to happy

what could kill these fish but not the others, i would think that if it was a disease it would hit ALL fish and the babies most of all

How big is your tank Nikki?
Is the tank cycled and what filter has it got?
When you say water levels are ok do you mean ammonia and nitrite?

Agree with glolite here,

We need to know your tanks test results in number format, one person's perception of 'ok' is different from anothers.

PH?
Ammonia?
Nitrite?
Nitrate?

Andy

its a 4ft x 2ft tank unsure of how much water that holds

PH?
Ammonia?
Nitrite?
Nitrate?

all normal i even took a test sample to the fish shop for them to test and all the levels were normal there too

all the other fish in the tank are happy, mollie mum and dad are dandy and they are the smallest fish (except babies but they in hatchery) but still all same water

How long have you had the tetras for? Were they a recent addition?

Also, how long has the tank been set up for?

I probably sound really nosy but I'm searching for clues here. :good:

I don't know much about those fish, but what kind of sharks do you have?

Unfortuanately saying you results are fine doesnt help us help you! I wouldnt trust any LFS when it comes to testing water, they will tell you exactly what you want to hear, most of the time just to make sales.

We need the results for each test in number format, without them, we cant help accurately.

What sort of testing kit are you using? and what sort did your lfs use?

Andy

Thanks for the replies guys, but i think i have found my problem

Mr Mollie  he is the second smallest in the tank at the moment but he seems to have wiped out everyone smaller then him (except miss mollie) and is now attacking the bigger fish, one of my gouramies fins have been chewed and my red tail shark is looking a little battered, my silver shark looks like hes mite lose his eye,, so i have put him in solitude in the spare hatchery i had, the only other fish it could be (but i doubt) is my pearl gourami, hes not usually agressive but hes the only one in the tank not hurt (besides mr mollie) and hes the biggest fish in the tank but never seen him agressive

i have noticed the past couple of weeks that mr mollie has been very piggy with his food and at one stage thought he was a SHE with the belly on him all the time!, so will keep him in there for 2-3 days and see how the other fish go, if they come out of hiding and start looking a little better or not will depend on Mr Mollies future in my tank!
