Well just a little about me first. after a long break of over15 years {use to have a marine tank when I lived with my parents} I got back into marines just over a year ago with my D&D 24g and I must admit I had almost forgotten every think I had learned all those years ago any way with a lot of help from the very nice people on this site thing started to come back to me all though things had advanced a lot over the years live rock to mention just one I found the hole nano reef thing to be a really good introduction back into the salty side and well when my lfs decided to sell their 2ft cube setup I could not resist the temptation. But when I got it home on closer inspection the inside of the cabinet was not in the best of condition due to salt creep ect so I set about designing a custom cabinet and that’s where I am up to date….

The cabinet is now about 80% complete I still have the hole to drill for the durso to sump feed and I have some trim to put around the bottom of the tank once it is in place on the cabinet. I also still have the pelmet to make then stain and varnish so i am hoping to get some spare time this weekend to get cracked on with it a little. {more pics after the week end}.

its not the size of the boat, it the motion of the ocean :cool:

your D&D looks amazing! stunning!

This cube looks cool; i like the stand ;)

did you make the stand as it looks store build.... thats some serious craftmanship! :good:

neat tanks, do you have a stock list for the nano? im interested in the yellow fish, i cant quite make it out, is it a wrasse?

silver bellied wrasse or a canary wrasse by the looks of it!

cant wait to see the new tank up and running going to look awesome!

No the stand is not a shop unit it is custom built. I was going to get a cabinet maker to do the job but it was going to work out to expensive in the end so i got a joiner friend to make me the frame then i set about the rest of it myself and believe me it’s my 1st and last my work shop has been a no go area for weeks {me cutting my hands hammering my fingers shouting swearing ect never again}
Truck the yellow fish is a Lemon Meringue Wrasse

come on man thats no good get your priorities sorted, the tank comes first!

OMG she would kill me :rip: , its taken use 12 years to decide to get married :whistle: and if i start spending the wedding funds.............. i think my bags and tank ect would be out at the bottom of the drive :lol: I don’t know :flowers: might just do the trick though :good:

It could go some think like this; i have booked a table at the Indian tonight darling. Wait till we are sitting down and tucking into the meal with a glass of wine get on to the subject of the tank build and just let it slip out, o buy the way there could be a delivery tomorrow i have ordered a tunze 6055 and a controller only £180 love, or and a new sump pump and a reactor ect ect... :rofl:

OK, I am on both sides of the fence here, other half and I have been together 12 yrs, I have diamonds but no wedding ring.
I am also in the process of setting up a new tank, so I see where you are coming from.

If you have agreed to the wedding, no amount of flowers or handbags is going to make up for it, Diamonds might, but after 12 yrs I doubt it.

Keep the Mrs happy.

Really nice build, but a word of caution - no bl**dy flowers or handbag or dinner out will win us around, you are just telling us 'honey, I have spent loads of money or done something I shouldn't have' so we can then go off and find out what it is, then hit you squarely between the eyes when we find out :crazy: and then we will say ' you should have been honest and told me straight up'! Then of course when you are honest and tell us straight up we will enjoy telling you off anyway :blink: you can't win, so just give up now :rofl: and buy lots of jewellery :good: or just smile when she says, honey I spent a bit much this month, can you help me out..............

It's worth it in the end, honest!
