i have 2 questions......

i have 2 young female kribs and 1 male krib.....will they be okay together!?!?!?!1

and....

im buying a new tank in the next week or so, about 240 litres......can kribs go in with other african cichlids??? if so what kind are best suited with them??

any advice is appreciated! thanks!!!

It is a bad idea. They will pair off and beat up the third female. They are not aggressive enough to be kept with africans like yellow labs.

should i get another male to even things out?!?!?!

Better to get rid of the extra female as soon as they pair up (maybe keep your current tank as spare to put her into temporarily till you can find a new home when the time comes?). They *might* be fine with other river African cichlids such as the Pseudocrenilabrus species. Do not mix them with any Rift Lake cichlids though (as mentioned above!).

both females have amazing colours....they are the only ones i have found with the markings and colours that i like so if i can i would liek to keep her......would getting another male not help?!?!?! they are both ready to spawn and dont seem to care with who lol....

That depends on the layout of the 240l tank. What are the dimensions, where will you place the caves, decor, planted, tank mates?

i have the 3 kribs in my current tank and have 5 caves on either side of the tank with plants and plenty of hiding spaces....i figured i would do the same in the 240 litre tank.....just have all the caves on oposite sides of the tank so they can stake out their territory as far from eachother as possible.....its just the females that have a problem with eachother.....i figure cause they are both fighting for one male.....so i thought if there were 2 males there wouldnt be any arguments.....each pair can go to their sides of the tank and be happy lol. and they are just going to have 3 pakistani loaches and a lace gourami with them at first. and then well add a couple other fish when the time comes......

What are the dimensions? If the bottom of the tank is 36*12 inches, then it won't work. If it is 48*18 inches and well planted, then it might.

You say the females are fighting? The males will fight more. They are fighting over territory as much as the male and once the male will pick one of them, he will join in.

Btw, the loaches would benefit from a few more to form a school.

what if i put a tank divider in and divided the 2 pairs would that help???? ahaha im just looking at all my options here....if i could afford it i would just buy a new tank and split the 2 pairs...instead ill have to improvise...

Yes, a divider would work: an opaque one is best. Keep in mind that they need at least 24*16 inches each if you don't keep other fish.

the tank im getting is 1220mm x 457mm x 457mm im not sure what that is in inches......ill put a tank divider in the tank they are in at the moment and then see how they go in the new tank once its set up and cycled!!! thanks for all the help and advice i really really appreciate it!
