I'm in the process of geting my tank ready for some multi's I,m going to start with 5 and see what happens, the question that I have is I would like to keep another type of fish in the same tank as well the dim. are 30x12x18 I'm thinking to pick between three species: white alto calvus ,julicromis ornatus,or some paracyprichromis sp,has anyone had any success in keeping any of these fish together? Maybe another type of fish that will work? any comments or sugestions on what type of fish to keep with the muti's will be appreciated thanks.

They are usually kept in a species only with mabye a bristlenose. Most larger fish will just harass them.

what about cyprichromis leptosma? From what I have read these fish are very mild and do not compete with sand dwelling types of fish since these are mid to upper level fish .

Not sure, you should ask some other people. I have read of where multies are kept in a Lake Tanganyika community, but have noexpirence ith them in a comunity.
