29g 7 35g tanks

I love the cichlids brifgt beautiful colors. What can I put in my tanks? The largest tank I have is a 35g. I like the yellow labs. What other type of fish can I put with these? I have a friend that has gourmi's with her cichlids. Is this okay. She also has a rainbow shark. Aren't they supposed to be kept separate? How many fis can I put in a tank this size?

yellow labs are African Cichlids. Yes they should be seperate but some people have been able to keep other fish with labs because they are not very aggressive compared to most Mbuna. (Rock dwelling cichlids) Maybe some labs and some Pseudotropheus Acei with themand maype a small dwarf plec.
