The serpae tetras might be a big nippy, but I've not actually had any before so I could be wrong. You could always try it, see how it turns out. Especially since you've done it successfully before.
As for the german rams, as long as you keep the water clean you should be fine, should you choose to try them.

Ya my lfs just sold the last of the german rams they had... i was very close to buying them myself. And ya ive never kept a gourami but i do like them alot too.

I would change the blue gourami for a dwarf gourami (smaller and less agressive). The rest sounds fine to me.

I really would perfer a blue gourami, but the blue dwarfs look pretty cool, so I just might go with one of them if the blue dosen't work out.
