I'm no expert, but the bottom one especially does look faked in some way :(

Wow, those are very strange-looking fish! Isn't it false advertising if they're tattooed and he doesn't mention it?

i w3ould of said top one looks more tatooed, bottom looks like funny marbling, which i have seen before

I wondered how long it would be until people done this to bettas.
Urghh!
Lets just hope its there natural look, and they have not been tattoo'd.

Thing is, I think white bettas are some of the most beautiful, so much prettier than what the end result is there :(

I've just seen this in another post.. apologies for nabbing it! but there was a betta with some colouration that could possibly be a slightly less bold version of these 2.. someone said it was known as a "dalmation" colouration to the bettas?

..I just wonder if this could be it.. if not a very similar, more pronounced version?

...also I saw some just like these 2 once before.. but I'm sure id rememebr them if they were $250!! .. with the exchange rate etc I believe that's about £153 atm!! Not sure I could ever justify spending that much on one fish..no matter what colour it is! ..unless of course it talks..?.. then that's a whole different matter :D

Hmmmmm looks susptiouse to me. I'd have to see them in real life to be sure, their eyes look odd a little too blue my Radish has blue eyes but there not luminouse like those are. And i dont think there dalmations, dalmatons are normally light in colour with darker spots of that colour in their fins not there body i think although i could be wrong.

I dont like them they dont look beautiful like the normal sold bettas do. Poor things if they have been dyed i hate people who do that to fish, what gives them the right to do that to another creature?

Maybe they've been photoshopped? Where did you see them?

OP said they were seen on aquabid, i agree they are expensive and imo not as pretty as many "normal" bettas

i think they looksvery pretty. but i do agree with you they dont look real and i wouldnt want a fish that isn real (Ie tattooed or something)

Though i wouldnt want to pay that much on a fish that will die in a couple of years. yes i understand they would be used for breeding but still wouldnt want to pay that type of money

i think the second one looks more natrual than the first on but i wouldnt risk it for $250

They are real and not done with dye or tattoo. They are hard to breed and that line is very expensive. I believe that Wuvymbetta Bought a Pair a few years ago when they were on AB

the eyes didnt bother me too much themselves, but the patterns on them did, I have a fish with the same eyes.

They do seem really unusal just not my taste :)

Hope they are natural as at least they have not suffered those horrid methods. I take it the gene specific of that patterning is the hard part to breed?
