So I'm waiting for my new tank to arrive. It's a juwel rio 240. I think that's about 55 gallons. I'm having sand as substrate and plan on putting some plants in that are easy to care for along with wood and rocks. I've already decided I'm going to transfer my xray tetras and my corys from my 64 litre.
Just wondering what else I could put in there. I like the look of:
dwarf gourami
Kissing gourami
Clown loach
Rosy barb
Peacock goby
Dwarf otocinclus

Has anyone got any ideas what would work well with the tetras and corys I have? Thanks for any help, as always :)

The Clown Loaches grow to about 30cm and need to be in a group of six or more so 240L isn't large enough. My Clowns in my signature are going into an 805L soon enough so they'd be ok if you plan to upgrade further?

Not sure about others opinions but personally I find the Rosy Barbs too hectic and they are also fin nippers, maybe not as bad as Tiger Barbs but still in that category :p

Were you looking for a nice shoal of fish? A centre piece fish? Mid level swimming?
More specifics on what you would like :D

Wel I've only got 3 corys at the moment and 4 tetras. I was planning on having those as my schooling fish. I'm going to get a lot more of these. Then maybe a larger fish as the centre piece? I'm not too fussy to be honest. Just something that will get on with the other fish that wi be suitable for that size tank :)

Not fussy? Pssh :p Unheard of in the fish world!

I've heard X-Ray Tetras can be a bit nippy when it comes to fins too, I've witnessed them doing it at my place of work (will need verification from another member if this is a true likeness) but I guess if you have a large enough group the chances of that will be cut right down.

How about a male and a few female Dwarf Gouramis? Or an Angelfish?
Perhaps some Three Spot Gourami?
Really hard to think without being biased towards certain fish :p

Oh, I hadn't heard that. I've got the tetras in with my platys at the moment and there hasn't been any nipping as far as I've seen?
I did like the look of te gouramis but didn't know if they would be ok with the other fish? I've heard Angels can be quite aggressive?
