hellooo again everyone! :D

I am thinking about a 20gl. for Christmas! YAY!

i want a livebearer colony...

what kind?

mollies?
swordtails?
platies? (have a few)
or guppies(have lots)

thanks everyone in advance for suggestions!

Swords and mollies get rather big, on the average, so if you want a "colony", that would mean the other two. In all honesty, I would suggest guppies for this purpose.

I was going to suggest some Limia or mosquito fish but I guess you already made up your mind! I wouldn't suggest trying to breed rams and swordtails in the same tank as male swords tend to be aggressive and territorial and would probably eat the ram fry.

I would get some Sunburst platies. They are very bright in color, I'm thinking about getting some for myself actually ;)

Then maybe add a few guppy's with them. That's what I would do, but the choice is yours :D

if u get guppys plan on 100+ babys every month :D iv got 1 female and iv got my hands full. what kind of 20g is it? long or tall? if its longer it will be better suited for breeding as there is more room for fish to hide ;)

i have a bunch of platys and 1 betta. the betta is touted as some kind of firece fighting fish but its alot more tame than everyone claims. my betta is scared of the platys.
