I've had a recent problem in my 75g tank, so I've had to move some fish around temporarily. My oscar is now in a 40g square rainbow cichlid breeding tank.. The oscar and male rainbow love to flare at each other.

---- All of the following are in a 55g tank.. most will be moved to the 75g, and some will be sold as they grow.

Convict with no tail. It was eaten off by larger fish at the lfs, so I bought it.

I bought this as a jurupara.. not exactly sure what it is, but I have 3, and I believe they grow to 10'' and don't like being in tanks with their own kind. Maybe someone can help an ID or some general info.

Midnight catfish.. I've got 2 of them.. they only leave their caves when it's feeding time.

---- Now onto 55g breeding tank

Divided into 1/3 and 2/3 ... 1/3 has a pair of jewel cichlids, 2/3 has pair of gold severums

Red severum.. in a 10g tank recouping the 75g disaster

Pair of convicts also in the same 10g.. They were almost killed by the spawning jewels when they were in the 75g tank with them. So they're in a 10g with Ms. red severum while I sort things out.

Now some livebearers.. I've got 2 trios of guppies, 1 male platy and 4 female platys in there. There are also about 20 fry that I've seen.. probably more hiding. Also an adf in there somewhere.

Whatchu think?

Love the chocolate cichlid

I bought it when it was 1'' long for $2 around boxing day. Now it's about 3.5''. Really nice aggression wise, I'm actually pretty shocked it's not mean to the other fish. I hope I can keep this guy long term.

Thanks. Had to do something to try to cure my bordedom!! and thought it might give other bored people something interesting to look at.. haha

just to break it to u...that tail was cut for that look.
nice fish though

you never know with false advertising but....nice fish.love the sevs

that looks like an earth eater by the way

It wasn't advertised as anything other then an american cichlid.. It still had pieces of it's tail left when I got it.. small parts of the tail were still growing.. And it was about an inch long, in a tank with 3'' flowerhorns, convicts, and all sorts of other large cichlids bothering it. So unless the person cutting it decided to miss a few spots, and the other fish in the tank didn't eat it, then I don't know.
