20 Gallon With Blue Gourami And A Bn Plec

I have a 20 gallon with a BN plec and a blue gourami in it. It used to have some platy in it, but some of them died as soon as I added the blue gourami, so I took the remaining platy out.

The tank is not as exciting to look at with 1 BN always hiding under bogwood, and 1 blue gourami swimming around. What would you get to liven up the tank?

lfs owner suggested a gold gourami, but I think that would be asking for trouble with only 20 gallons of space. He also suggested some tinfoil barbs he had in stock. Since I see they grow over 12", I don't take his suggestions very seriously!

asking the lfs is always asking for bad advice imo. i think your tank is a tad small for a blue gourami, as they do best in a 1m to 2f ratio.
