Hi, I currently have a 98 litre cycled tank (20-21 gallons) and my stocking at the moment is 5 zebra danios, 5 tiger barbs, 2 dalmation mollies, 2 platys, 6 neons, 2 dwarf gouramis and a rescued pleco. I was wondering could i add more fish, i was thinking of a female dwarf gourami/ guppies/ female bettas but open to other suggestions.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this stocking is awful and overstocked :/

Zebra danios are very active fish and need at least a 4 foot tank.
On no account should gouramis, neon tetras, and tiger barbs be in the same tank. Tiger barbs are super aggressive to other fish, especially long finned fish like gouramis. And what kind of rescued plec? If its a common plec, it gets waaaaay to big for that tank :/

Actually the tiger barbs stick together and not once have they bothered anyone in the tank. As for the neons they are the sooo placid. The pleco is a common one. So i don't agree with you "ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD THEY BE PUT TOGETHER"

I agree with the others who've posted, your tank is over stocked & that mix is not a good one to begin with. Tiger Barbs are very aggressive, especially in small groups and when the tank is crowded. Do any of your fish have ragged fins yet? Mollys should have a 30 to 40 gallon tank, although my son has a single Molly in his 20 gallon high with no problems. Neons are very peaceful & shouldn't be kept with Tiger Barbs either. Did you research any of these fish before you got them?

I would re-home the Tiger Barbs & the Danios, and then you could add a couple of female Dwarf Gouramis & a few more Neons or Glowlight Tetras. Then, if it's a Common Pleco they get to be up to 24 inches long, so you should trade him out for a Bristlenose Pleco or a small school of 6 Otos for algae control.

How big are the Tigers?

All of the fish in the tank have no problems at all. I can even take pics to prove it. The tiger barbs honestly do not harm any of my fish at all. All of them are healthy and get along. The tiger barbs are around 5cm.

Seriously? You come to this forum, asking for advice and help, and then when people give you serious and helpful advice on what to do, you deny everything they've said?

-_-

I'm not denying what anyone says. I have taken on board about not having any more fish, which i had a feeling anyway. All i am doing is telling you guys the truth, my fish are perfectly happy and healthy. Is telling the truth such a crime.

Just be careful with your Barbs, keep a close eye out for any nipping. I had 5 myself and they started to nip at the dominant Gold Gopurami male in my 36 gallon. He'd chase them & then they'd school away. It continued for a day or so & then I bagged them up & reluctantly returned them to the fish store. My Barbs were only about a half inch long but they were like little pirahnas! Serpae Tetras are similar in that regard.

I think the Molly could be fine in a 20 gallon but that 20 gallon is already pretty over stocked.

Thanks for the advice, i check everyday to make sure there is no nipping. I must have had a lucky batch of tiger's lol.
