Specs:

-20 Gallons
-4lbs Substrate w/ various ornaments and 4 live plants + java moss
-Whisper 20 Power Filter w/ accompanied heater that came with the tank (made for 20g's)
-Day 13 of Bio-Spira cycled tank (not completely cycled- won't add more until it is)

Fish as of right now
:

1 Blue Gourami
4 Black Phantom Tetra's
1 Pearl Mystery Snail

What are my options next? Obviously I will be finishing off the tetra's by adding 2-3 more so they are comfortable... but I want a bit more color. The gourami is gorgeous especially when he shows his mating colors but I want one more dash of variety in my tank.

I'm thinking that a small school of anything would be entirely too much and that my only option may be some lone swimming 1-2 incher. Do same size tetra's school together? Could I add, lets say... 2 Serpae Tetra's and have them happy?

All tetra species really need a minimum group size of 5 as they are all mainly schooling. Serpaes are also a little nippy I've heard, but feel free to look up yourself, and may have go at your gourami. I'm thinking maybe a few dwarf neon rainbow fish might look good. You could also do with some bottom feeders.

:good:

Yeah I was thinking of a few albino cory's (2-3) and call it a day.
