i found my old camera and decided to snap some pictures of my 2 platies in their 10G tank
they seem to be very camera shy and just hide behind the artificial plant when the camera comes near the tank

here are some pics of the tank and fish

im going to pick up a male platy tomorrow to keep these 2 females company

the water seems a little cloudy because i put in one of those tank buddies parasite things that kill off any parasites (if there were any)
only did this because i was worried about losing my remaining fish after the male platy died a few days ago

the desklight on top of the tank is only temporary while i fabricate a custom acrylic hood which will have a place to mount the light inside

aw there so cute, my guppies are the same, such playful lil fish  just be prepared for babies if you get a male :hey:

they love the bubbles
the male used to let the bubbles take him to the top of the tank and then swim back down and do it over and over again
and now the females do it too, same with the 2 ottos except they mostly just stick to the glass right in the bubbles path

lilfishie: believe it or not but the whole point of me getting a male is to have some fry and and have an excuse to get a bigger tank lol
i just want 1 batch of fry for now and i'll seperate the male from the females and the male and fry will go in a seperate tank(after the fry a big enough to not get eaten)

Lol, you and I use the exact same food! The tetra color flakes and the alge wafers. I use the flakes for my guppies and the wafers for my chinese alge eater. He's gettig agressive though, so I'm gonna take him back to the store. I just thought I might say that. It's kinda cool hu?

cool!, i use the algae wafers for my 2 ottos
they absolutely love the stuff, i usually break one into 3-4 smaller pieces and put in 1 piece every 2-3 days but the ottos dont dig in until its all fluffy

you'll be lucky to get just one batch, eveny with out a male, once the first lot is hear she will already be carrying the next lot, my male guppy died a week before the female gave birth, and this week she is due again  good luck with the breeding anyway :good:

mine like the filter pump also they play in the bubbles and the current its fun to watch :)

my blue mickey mouse platy is queen of my 3 red wagail and veriatus platy:lol: if any of them go near her she chases them off!! they love to platy in the bubbles taking it in turns to swim through it as fast as they can before they get pushed to the top!! they also like to tease my betta by swimming in front of him and making him chase them away! cheeky little thing they make me laugh
