Just been round to visit the other half's mum. she has 2 35l tanks one with guppies and an otto and a couple of yoyo loaches in, and one with a pair of rams some tetras 2 gourami's clown loaches and a plec in. have told her she needs a bigger tank asap for the plec, clown loaches and gourami's. which she is keen to do as soon as possible.
But the question is the tank with the guppies in has a PH of 8, which is the same as the tap water for the area. but the other tank has a PH of 6. she has never added any PH adjuster to either tank, uses the same water safe treatment on both tanks, adds same water to both tanks!
anybody know what could be causing this?
oh and no, there is not any bogwood in the tank. fairy castles and real and plastic plants only.
