Hey all! My husband and I find ourselves in the situation of an unexpected and unwanted move and gee, I have 9 fish tanks of varying sizes. :) I have two tanks that I have been building up slowly neither are at capasity so I was wondering if I could combine them to eliminate one of my tanks. In one tank I have a dwarf guarami, a few neon tetras and a pair of pygmy cories. I had intended on building my stock up of the tetras and cories to where they should be but when we found out about the move I decided not to add anymore stock for the time being. Now I'm wondering if I can add my three cherry barbs to that tank (at least until after the move)? I tried to read about the fish to see if they would go together well but didn't really find anything for or against. Advice would be great.

Also, any advice on moving the tanks would be great. If I can combine the two as above that puts me down to 8 tanks, then if I rehome my fiddler crab tank, that gets me down to my six betta tanks and one goldfish tank besides the big one with all the above. I think I can temporarily place my bettas in rubbermaid containers with holes punched in the tops to move them and I wonder if I can do the same with the goldfish (just 1). It's possible that in between houses my dh and I will have to stay in a hotel for a while. I think I can talk a friend into fish sitting my biggest tank while we in limbo but that still leaves six bettas and a goldfish in rubber maids (or something).

And what is the best way to move established tanks? I had the idea to remove and keep most of the water with the fish in a separate sealed container, drive it to the location which will be about an hour's drive (either our new house or the fish-sitter's) and then set it back up again. This tank has sand and live plants.

Did I give enough info? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
