Like the title says, two of my Rosey Barbs apear to have no scales (I can see the odd one but thats it) I can also see all their organs as their skin is quite transparent. I bought both of them like this- in the shop they just looked brightly coloured, when i got them home I figured they where just an odd colouring (as there where two of them I didn't think much of it) however i have since spotted they do have a handful of scales each which makes me think this is purhaps not normal? So is this somthing I should be woried about?

They seem healthy apart from this but if it is something to worry about (maybe they'd be more delecate?) then I'd quite like to know XD

I read that when barbs are spawning they can nip at each other and lose scales that way. Or at some point recently had ich or another disease that caused the missing scales? Not sure, sorry. Here's a link to some common freshwater diseases, see if any of these sound like what they have: http://www.fishlore.com/Disease.htm Also is the tank cycled? What are the water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)?

They don't appear at all ill- they both act just as hyper as my other rosey barb; they just don't have scales, but I got them this way so I don't know how it happened, i just want to know if i need to be worried about them or more careful, or if it is just a differant strain (though i doubt this).
And no the tank isn't yet fully cycled, i ended up doing a fish-in cycle as i only heard of fishless-cycling after i got them, but i do a daily 50% water change and a weekly 70-85% water change to keep the levels low.

LG - that link doesn't work....

Doh, thanks, fixed. :D

If they seem ok for now and you got them like that, I would just keep an eye on them and keep their water as clean as possible. Hopefully someone else with more experience chime in too. Good luck.
