1. Our LFS always has some nice looking planted driftwood/rock but it's a wee bit expensive. I was wondering if it was easy to do yourself? Hints and tips? Have you tried it? Which plants are easier to do?

2. Ages ago, I found a really good looking aquarium plant site from Australia (where we are!) and now I'm buggered if I can relocate it! You could buy online... any suggestions?

Ta!

:D HEY HEY!

Im in SA too. That makes two. Yepee.

Anyways, on to your q.'s

1: Yup, plants on drift wood is pretty easy to accomplish. Ive done it with just plain java moss, but other kipts work well. Try and use fishing line or cotton thread. If your wood is small enough you could use a womans hair net too. (im not saying hair nets are exclusively for women, no offence meant)

2: Ive neva seen or heard of a plant seller on the web ferm here in SA but ill ask around and PM you if i hear anything. My lfs gets plants in for me bulk and keeps whateva i dont want, usually under $1.50 each!!

I think the web site may have been a Qld one...

Will try your planting suggestions, thanks!

Live Plant Site

Another Live Plant Site

I have bought plants from the top site.....they ship via express and they arrived the next day (though I wasn't home when they were delivered so I had to collect the next day)....good condition, good service, good range of plants.

The other site I have never ordered from but I am looking at getting some stuff from them soon :D

HTH!!

Anubias species work very well tied to rocks and wood. Indeed, you should not plant the rhizome of Anubias, if you do, it will rot.

Yer i have tied ''Anubias nana'' and java fern to rocks, just use thin fishing line and tie the plant on without crushing too many leaves. The plant will grow nicely on the rock. Try using some sort of plant food or/and CO2 in your tank to help the plants grow all over the rock or wood.
