question 1. reading the pinned topic on ricca it says leave it in the tank floating for a week and it will double in size. does this mean if you leave it longer it will keep multiplying?

question 2. for a 240l well planted tank. would liquid carbon be ok? i dont want extreme growth, just healthy plants. it has about 1.4wpg

or should i go pressurized?

From what others have said in the past, Riccia is not too keen on liquid carbon.

Dave.

sorry questions wernt clear. ricca will be in a seperate tank, its just im only getting a little and need a fair bit to cover the slate i have which is going in a tank

the co2 question was for a different tank that will have differnt plants etc.

another question, does ricca need co2?

another question, does ricca need co2?

If it's floating then certainly no. When submerged, for best results CO2 should be added, although I've had riccia submerged before unintentionally when it floated around and got stuck on a branch/plant inside the tank and that kept on growing without CO2.

longer you leave it flating the more it will grow. It has the most amount of light and unlimited CO2 at the surface hence why it grows so fast.

Dosing at the manafacturer's instructions is fine with riccia, but overdosing can kill it.

Riccia can be grown without CO2

i am growing riccia in my planted dp tank, on the surface until my wood gets logged... it grows fine, and i am using 2.5wpg, easycarbo and tpn+, i wouldnt recommend riccia to anyone else though, its a rubbish plant :)
