I have 4 Angelfish in my 55gal. Water great. All fish look great except one. One of the Koi Angelfish literally has two holes in his side. One hole/sore is in the middle of one side the other hole/sore is just behind the fin on the same side. He seems to be deteriorating and today is handing at the bottom away from the others.

The only disease I have heard of with similar symptoms is the Hole In the Head disease however, my water is great, I do not have an underground filter and no one else is suffering any problems, yet at least.

Any insight would be really appreciated. I don't want to loose him and most importantly I don't want to infect such a large tank.

EDIT: My swordtails are seeming a little unhappy. Fins not out as they should be. Looks like they may be clamping up. Probably related to whatever is going on with the Angelfish.

Any ideas? Really need help!!!

It may be a case of one or more of the other angels being aggressive towards the one that is banged up. Sometimes when trying to escape, the fish will end up bashing or gashing themselves on a rock or other deco. Usually this will heal itself with regular water changes & maybe a bit of melafix. If this is the case it is best to seperate the batterer from the batteree. Adding more angels may help if you have tank room. this helps spread the aggression.

Is the wounded angel eating? Even with some of my more aggressive angels they would call some sort of truce at feeding time, everyone eat, them continue harassing other fish. If the fish is not eating, I would suspect hex, and treat with metronodazole.

Add some Melafix like Tolak said. You can even apply it directly to the fish if you do not want to treat the whole tank. (That's what I do.) You can also add some aquarium salt to aid in the healing.
