Thanks for the notice! You don't know if any shows are going to take place in/around east anglia do you?

Just wondered What the Friends of Yorkshire Show was. Just scanned Otleys site and its under the Y.A.A.S. banner (I thought it was a new breakaway organisation)
also good to see Trevor Douglas (show judge) is still around.

Cheesy: sadily I'm not sure , but here is the full list of shows for this year http://www.fbas.co.uk/Shdates.html

BigC: I dont know of Friends of Yorkshire my self, as I'm way down south, just thought I'll post the info.

Dose anyone know?

Just sent an email to YAAS to get some gen.
Thanks for bringing my/our attention to the various show dates around the country which are in steady decline. In my mind every aquarist worth their salt should at some stage join a local society, regional or national body. You dont have to show fish to be a member.

No thats right, BigC i first join my club when i was 12 and now i'm 29sadily our club in bourneouth closed about 6 years ago :(

We all need new members to keep these things going and i love traveling to the shows and seeing everyone, Also this year I've meet about 5-6 members from this forum at the shows and it good the see them starting up.

Yeah Helter,
Since your last posting on the show front, I've been in contact with some old Bradford members (who are still members) I'm paying my subs and going to become an off shore member as it were. Small contribution to their funds. LOL
As you say lasting friendships are formed that go beyond the bounds of fishkeeping.
Did Bournemouth have a lapel badge.
Regards
BigC

Thay may of in the 60-70's but none that i saw of, how ever some one sold about 150 at an auction 4 years back i was at and they sold for £50 which was good.

whats a fish show  is that like a dog show but with fish lol

yep, but better than looking at boring dogs!!! you will see some very rare fish as well there.

Hi,
Just heard back fro Sue and Arthur at YAAS
The "Friends of Yorkshire Show" is an extra show/auction put on by the YAAS judges to add to the show calendar. Just an extra outing if you like to gain certificates for top class entrants and also the auction is a big draw.
Just wanted to clear that up.
Regards
BigC
