in my 55 gallon tank my parrot and large jewel cichlid looks like they have ick, unfortunatly I only have a 5 gallon for a hospital tank so they are in there. With no mdeication yet.
Should I treat my entire 55 gallon for ick just incase there are little parasites swimming around?
Both fish don't show signs of sickness yet. Just have white spots which I want to make sure its not a small case of the fungus. Which I have seen this before and sometimes goes away, but these fish have spots in a lot of places.

2 of my other fish, a Electric Blue and a Large Male Electric Yellow, do this fast pace shiver or shake all the time. I see no visible signs of anything on the outside of their body. What could this be?

When you have an Ich breakout you should always treat the entire tank. In my experience a hospital tank isn't needed with ich because, usually, by the time you see any of it, all of the fish are being affected by it, whether it is visible or not.

Whitespot looks like grains of salt on the fish.
Also before a break out of whitespot you sometimes notice very small bubbles on the fish.

White spot is a treat entire tank situation, no point treating one fish then putting him back into infected water.

Well I still have my eye on them. The spots seemed to have gone away. After putting them in the hospital tank with melafix. Maybe it was just the spotty fungus. It didn't Exactly look like ick but damn close which is why I thought it might be ick.

All the other fish don't have any signs of ick.

So while I keep my eye on them, What do you think may be wrong with my other 2 fish? They scratch at the bottom all the time and swim erratically now and then and do a fast paced shivver or shake. I have no idea what it could be.

Ammonia is 0ppm, Nitrite is 0ppm, nitrate I think is around 10ppm or more.

I would medicate as to me it sounds like they have a parasite as they are showing some signs.

my fish did the same thing, after treating them all for ich, as my other tank had it, so I thought maybe I might have cross infected the tanks, they were then fine

Ya the spots are still there on the other fish, I just didn't see them for some reason. So while they are still pretty healthy im going to treat for ick.

This is going to suck. Treating a 30 gallon was bad enough a few years ago when I had ick. Now a 55 gallon....hmm

Thanks for your input!
