hi
we have a tropical community tank been going for over 5 yrs. when we started out we had a bad experience with a m & f krib pair who we (bad advice) put in our tank. we were horrified to realise after a short while they were attacking & killing small fish in the tank such as neons & cardinal tetras. we rehomed our kribs (reluctantly they were beautiful fish) but as my o/h loves kribs decided to get a female, shes been with us for over 2 months with no problems, we have never even seen her look twice at our rummys or cardinals (thank god i was very nervous about trying a krib again)
we are about to upgrade our 4ft for a 6ft tank & im wondering should we get another female krib so she is not by herself?? will 2 female kribs live together happily without becoming aggressive? we would never risk getting a male krib with a female again in our community tropical but thought it might be nice to get our female one of her own kind to live with.
any thoughts?? experiences?? any problems??
thanks

I have 2 female kribs in a community tank and they don't hurt the other fish though they sometimes chase them away. They are more of a problem to each other, the larger female bullies the smaller, though not as much as she did. Now the smaller one is maturing and displaying a pink belly, she seems to get more respect! Though I am planning to separate them as soon as I get a bigger tank.

usually, whenever you have only two of the same semi-aggressive/aggressive species, there's a stronger, more assertive one and a weaker, shyer one.

obviously, the weaker one gets bullied, sometimes to the point of disease or death, especially in smaller tanks. this is what might happen if you have only two female kribs. so i wouldn't chance it if i were you.

thanks
dont want any bullying in our peaceful tank so dont think we'll risk it
