2 Dwarf Puffers In A 6 Gallon Tank?

I've read the pinned article and it said that 3 gallons per DP can be used.. could I get away with 2 of them in a 6 gallon tank (1 male 1 female, or both female)... I realize the answers probably no... But still worth a shot I'm picking out this tank tonight it's either going to be the eclipse 5 gallon or 6 gallon tank, I've got a mature filter to help with the cycle and I'll be planting it heavily... like 70-80% of the tank will be planted, furthur back so the front will be the "free swim" area... oh and a little water fall orniment in the middle... Will this set up be able to have 2 DPs??? Anyhelps great (also going to have like 3-5 otto cats in their )

Id be inclined just to have one in a 6 gallon personal preference. But you could possibly do it. Just remember that when you ad dplants and rocks your minimising the swimming space..

Just read abotu your oto's to. I have one DP and 2 otos (will eventually make it 3) in my 6 gallon and the otos do a good job. Dont go to wild with your stocking in such a small tank

true... I'll get 2-3 ottos then only and 2 DPs... Aswell though, plants do take up some swim space but DPs enjoy hiding in the plants and swimming through them... I'll get rid of the waterfall thing My friend gave me it cuz he had a 2.5 gallon tank that came with it... and he didn't want it so I got it... and I really don't want it but I need to put it somewhere anyways... 2 DPs in a 6gallon tank is possible... thx much good to know I'd still like a second opinion though!

6 Gallons, i think 1 Dwarf Puffer and some Ottos thats it.

If the tank is V heavily planted it should be fine, i keep three dps in a 5.5 gallon tank. I know its not advised but they are doing fine, most likely due to the planting.

I have however been lucky, as puffers all have different characters and i am in the situation where i have three peacefull personalities.

Try to pick very similar sized individuals however in order to avoid bullying.

I always think it's best to do threads on this as then the knowledge is shared with more people.

With 5 ottos in the tank, I wouldn't keep any DP's at all. That would be too much. 3 ottos and 1 DP would be the best arrangement for a tan that size, 2 DP's would be a very risky idea and I would advise against it.

In turn, I've only bought a 5 gallon hex tank and will be keeping 2-3 otos and 1 DP...
