Today When I got home 2 of my tiger oscars were dead. Less than 12 hours earlier they were both swimming round ' happy as larry'. As soon as I got home and found the dead fish, I was shocked because I really loved them, I imediately tested my water and fouund no problems. The the other fish that are kept in the tank do not bully or anything like that (to my knowlage). I really want to know the cause of death because I have preordered some fish and am picking them up this weekend. I can't think of anything! the tank has been running since Christmas, which would cross out new tank syndrome. I really need help figuring out what is wrong :/

What were you feeding them? What else is in the tank? So sorry about your fish

How big is the tank, and any signs of illness on the dead fish.

The tank is 450 litres, homed with a reasonably small BGK 2x silver dollars sailfin pleco, tiny snake head and angel fish and my big eel. BTW i have tried every food under the dun on my eel and he only takes bloodworm. I doubt that it was him. There is no sign of illness, just paleness that occurs once dead.

so sorry about the fish...I think the tank's size is sufficient and I think it shouldn't have any bearing on the cause of death... with oscars they may lose thier color when stressed or sick, did you notice any lightening of the fish's colors?? and also how were they with each other, and how old and large. and if you knew...possibly the sex of each

I don't know the sex but they looked normal before they died and after death they went pale. I thought that after dying this was normal, also I never saw any bullying between each other. Although we never know hat might be happening at night. I went to my LFS today (the people there really know their stuff) and they were baffled. Any more thoughts?

really sorry about your fish.check all your water stats, other fish, water temp, etc etc.if they all draw a blank then you've done your best.by the way,my fire eel would only eat earth worms.you try those and i bet he will eat loads of them.get the worms from a fishing tackle shop.give me a pm if you get the eel to eat them and you want to know anymore about fire eels.once again, sorry for your loss.
