2 Baby Platies Staying At Surface

2 of my baby platies (over 3 weeks old) are staying at the surface of my 90L tank all the time....is this a common problem or an indicator of inbreeding? Its not due to water conditions as they have never been exposed to ammonia or nitrite. Any help would be appreciated

yes, Has a spray bar that jets the water directly across the surface so there is lots of surface agitation. And all other fish are happy

are they gasping?

if not then they may just feel safer there, most of my small one stay at the top like my endlers and guppy babies...it seems most livebearers like to be near the surface nowadays!

This is actually not unusual. My platy babies often stay at the top if they are not threatened by the adult fish. I think they just feel more comfortable there.
