Hmmm I been thinking about getting my tomatoa a 10 gallon pronto. Tomorrow I will make this a reality, but then what will/can I put in a 2.5 gallon?! I know it was small for a tomato, but I must say from my past expierences with fish this has been the most easy to manage tank, most interesting fish, and I can't lie.... it has also been one of the healthyest livley fish I kept in a grip! What all kinds of fish can I keep rationally in a 2.5? Thanks for the help guys!

i have 2 bettas right now and they will soon be moved to their own 2 gallon tanks :shifty:

well if its gonna be SW again probably a yellow clown globy, but if your turning it into FW then yes a betta

Or a dwarf gourami
In a 2.5g? -_-
I have a dwarf gourami in a 10g, and I think that is tight. I plan on moving him to a 29g in a few weeks.

I'd stick with a betta, or a couple of ADFs.

some options...

1 betta
1 pair of guppies (beware of fry!!! in close quaters, they will probably eat them anyways)
1 pair of endlers
1 pair of heterendia formosa
1 bumble bee goby (brackish)

Thanks for the help every one! Now as far as my ten gallon. I know it seems bear but i have just about 1.5'' white sand, 2 10 watt florescent lights, Haitian Anemone, and a single Tomato Clown. Seems everything is doing fine as it is. What's your opinion on this, any suggestions? Thanks again.

You may wan't to post in the saltwater section? ;)

:p
BTW, if you are converting the 5 gallon to freshwater, any livebearers you decide to keep must both be male - you can't keep a male and female as they must be at a ratio of 2 females to every male - just wanted to make this clear. Obviously, you could go for 2 females but then you still have the risk of over-stocking due to fry within the 4 months after purchase when the females can store sperm.

Another interesting option may be a densely planted tank with some colorful shrimp species...

Ummm, it's a 2.5 gallon tank. Ok I'm planning on going to the fish store today and looking around a bit, What all salt watter and brakish species can i put in a 2.5 gallon including anemones, invertibres, and whatever else lol. Thank you once again. Sorry I'm really impatient huh?

If its SW already then post in the SW forum, there are some knowledgeble peeps there to help you. I have no salt water experience at all so cant help with that senario.

Brackish -- 1 bumblebee goby. Ghost shrimp. Amano shrimp. Cherry Shrimp.

Saltwater -- I've been told that even a 5g is too small for a percula clown and to stick with a goby. But I haven't done saltwater yet, just contemplating it. You may want to post about 2.5g saltwater possibilities in the saltwater forum, as this is the freshwater forum. ..There'd be more knowledge in the SW side.
