1st Test Results

Well using my master test kit I have my first results

PH - 7.6

High range PH - 8.0

Amonia - 0

Nitrite - 0.25

Nitrate - 20

the tank has been running since monday, after I'd cleaned the whole thing out from my last fish

Is it a fishless cycle.

ive just my test and my readings are the same except my nitrate is at 0 the tank has been established for about 9 month

i did feed the fish about an hour before hand would this of affected the nitrate tests results?

if not how? i did a water change on sunday

Doesnt quite answer the question.. are you familiar with the term fishless cycle, as if you search for it on this forum then theres lots of useful info to help you.

Unless i have miss-understood you that is.. unless you have added ammonia, then your results are not much of a suprise for tap water with no fish (apart from perhaps the nitrite).
