hello laura its only got a 30 watt tube in it so nothing would grow in the bottom of the tank

I didn't say live plants. You can buy many real looking fake plants(the silk or material ones) and they look great and give your fish security and shelter.

Laura I think she wants to keep it as natural as she can. So shes trying with natural bog-wood and real plants.

I think you should upgrade the lighting and grow Java Moss and Fern all over the tank, but leave the sand completely bare-that would look really cool.

See all that space in the front? A carpet of some sort of small plant would look awesome in there
