I have a cory that has been in my tank only a few weeks.

The only way it can stay on the bottom of the tank is to wedge itself under leaves of some plants. Otherwise it has started floating slowly to the surface of the tank.

I've been keeping corys for 20 years and never witnessed it before.

Can anyone help with diagnosis and possible cure ?

Any help appreciated !!!

Corys are very prone to bacterial infections, sounds like swim bladder has he bloated up, and does he lay to one side, i would try a bacterial med can you issolate the fish.

Apologies - I've just seen your rules.

My water quality is fine
It is a community tank and no other fish are pestering the fish
There are other perfectly well corys in there

Anybody any ideas?

Feeding flake and a good range of frozen foods

No opportunity t o isolate I'm afraid !

I agree with wilder, it sounds like a swim blader problem. What are you feeding your fish as diet can play a big part of swim blader. Isolation is always a good idea as well.

I also agree with wilder and tttnjfttt, it definately sounds like swim blatter problems, is there anything else you feed them, like pellets or anything ?

I've also been feeding some Tetra Prima mini granules to make sure enough gets to the bottom.

They need frozen foods, veg, and algae tablets.

Cook some peas, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.
