it will never be my intention to stock my Rio 180 to the limit or beyond, but at present my tank is looking a little empty, here's my current stock:

1 x Gold Angelfish (approx 5" from top to bottom)
1 x Black Angelfish (approx 5" from top to bottom)
1 x Red Tailed Black Shark (approx 4" long)
1 x P. Pictus (approx 4" long)
2 x Raphael Catfish (approx 2.5" long)
3 x Albino Catfish (approx 2" long)

naturally the 2 Raphael's and the Pictus hide most of the time, although I'm aware they are still taking up tank space whether or not they're seen :shifty: . however, I feel as though there's still quite a lot of room for additional fish, do you agree? Once the Black Shark and Pictus get to a certain size they'll be re-housed, but as my tank currently stands, do you agree I'm okay to add a few more fish? There isn't a lot of furniture within the tank i.e. there's plenty of room for swimming about :) .

I don't know much about sharks at all, but your pictus should be absolutely fine in that tank (47.5US gallons) and you can even get a couple of friends for it. Even though I only have one (in a 180l) myself, it's extremely active and hardly ever hides. But they are said to fair better in groups, so get a couple more.
Not much furniture is good for pictus, as they like to zoom around a lot. But you certainly need some hiding spaces and caves for your BN's and your Raphaels to feel content and secure.
Your albino bristle noses should mature at around 5" each.
Ps: Remember, when you measure fish, it's the actual body length only, excluding tail.

thanks for the advice bloozoo2. i have a few hiding places for the raphael's and like the idea of getting another 2 pictus' to make 3 in total as it's my favourite fish, with the raphael's a close 2nd (when i see them that is :( )
