Well, after being conditioned for 2 weeks, I placed Steve and Stella in the breeding tank. The next morning when I released Stella things didn’t work out. Steve ripped her fins apart, and Stella was playing with the bubble nest – making Steve very angry!
I decided to take Stella out, and add Bertha to the bottle in the breeding tank.
She showed her vertical stripes straight away, and Steve seemed very interested. Steve was wriggling and showing of his fins to Bertha, and started adding to his already massive bubble nest. The next morning Bertha was released from her bottle.
Within no time, they were trying to wrap. They finally got the hang of it in about an hour, and Bertha started releasing eggs. The first 10 or so eggs were ignored, but they soon got the hang of things and Steve started placing the eggs in the nest. This went on for over 4 hours, each time dropping 10-20 eggs.
NO damage was done to either of them, which I’m very happy with, they were so gentle with each other – a perfect match

1 and a half days later:
19/1/2012 - I woke up to find hundreds of little tails hanging down from the nest. Daddy Steve was being very good, helping his babies get back into the nest.
He also ate all the egg shells …

I'll keep you all updated
