Have you thought about hornwort? But that is a stem plant as well and you'll have to trim. It is a little lower maintenance, but with your WPG, the myriophyllum should do great! With that WPG, you could really branch out and do some seriously difficult species, like some toninas, but whatever you decide. I see you opted for the 15 long. All new lights and stuff, I bet, huh? Couldn't go cheap and stick with the same footprint, huh? Had to go spend, spend, spend...

I don't blame you, 15g long is one of my favorite tank sizes too. Wish I had one.

Not sure if its the same kind but we have parrots feather over here in the UK, think it escaped when someone brought it over from the US. Its a complete nightmare and is totally killing many of our rivers and lakes. So I would question that is doesn't grow very fast. It does just fine in cold UK ponds!

I would check its status in the US as well, you might find it banned in some states? Just a thought :)

Also you can get a red version of hornwort too I think, not sure.

I have the red form, it does grow quite fast nothing like as fast as hornwort. It roots like Egeria D roots from the stem growing down. I only have had it for three months, when you chop the top off it sprouts two or three new smaller shoots and the cuttings grow. Yeah the green form is an invasive weed, but it is a beautiful nonetheless. A book I have says that if you trim it too often it, it damages the plant, not sure what that means. I like the autumn idea, looking forward to the pics. Myaca (not sure of the spelling) now called something else looks conifer shaped. Its light green in colour, not fast growing in my tank much smaller than the myriophyllum its swings in the current so maybe not what you’re looking for.

You can plant it but it never produces roots, so will never anchor itself. But pushing it under some grave or rock work should hold it down if needs be.

Oh right must just have been imagining it then!
