Yet another update pic, just added another oscellaris, a firefish and some more mushrooms. Also traded in my urchin for a smaller one as he was getting way to big. Enjoy!

The coral on the right is a pompom xenia. Growing really fast!

The 2 clowns are good buddies! But the bigger one likes to eat all the food before the little guy has a chance though. Other then that they are always swimming side by side

Wow, nice lookin tank there :good:. Really healthy lookin corals :D

Bad news...woke up this morning and the small clown is gone :( , I noticed that he didn't seem very healthy yesterday cause he was swimming kinda strange and staying at the bottom of the tank. I'm sure the inverts are happy as they ate well last night. I checked the water and the nitrates are a little higher then normal. I'll do a water shange and try to get them back down.

Depends on what you mean by "...little higher than normal"

What about your ammonia, have you got a reliable test for that? Is the firefish OK and were the fish acclimatised properly?

Sorry to hear about the clown.

Nitrates are usually trace and this morning before the water change they were at 10. Everything else is good. the firefish and the other clown seem to be doing well. The little clown was only in the tank for 3 days. I always acclimate using the drip method for about 45 min.

Odd, trace to 10ppm is very low and a sign of some responsible practices, wtg :good:. Dunny why your fish died. One question, did you check for carpet surfing?

well, the tank has a sealed lid so I don't think he jumped out...I also checked the back filters and he wasen't there. mabye I'll get a new friend for the other clown next week, gonna let the tank sit and make sure the nitrates go back to trace. Thanks to all that responded!

It wasn't the nitrates, 10ppm is fine. It must have been something else.

Is your ammonia definitely 0, anything other than 0 is too much. If your nitrate has increased, although only slightly, it may mean there was a small ammonia/nitrite spike. I doubt this was the case though as I said, 10ppm nitrate is fairly good.

Was the fish in good health at the shop etc?
