I need to cut my drift wood shortly. I have been told it needs to be dry since wet it sticks to the blade. Even then it helps if you greese the blade.

I`m gonna try and find a vice as well, but then I risk damaging the wood!

Will you please let me know how it goes?

Chris

Recently I tried drilling some bogwood whilst it was wet .... not a great success, the drill snapped off
in the wood ! It was far better when dry.

I'd suggest drying it out first, I cant imagine it would cut very easily when wet.

I cut a piece of mopani and just used a junior hacksaw! took me ages but it got through it. That wood was very dry. The only thing I would add it that the 'cut' surface looked very unnatural so be sure to think about how it'll look after you've cut it, but before you actually do cut it!

Had to cut some of mine the other day!

Just let it dry out, cut and soak! As craynerd mentioned if wet the blade gets stuck!

Remember to sand off any sharp corners!

HAHA McMurry good thinking!! I could take it to the Tech department and get them to do it, haha!!

But then again i don`t really trust them with my precious wood that has taken my over 3 months to find!!
