I read you can keep them in five gallon tanks but i don't know if there is an established hieght but i would say about 6 inches becuase an inch will be taken by your substrate and then you need to make hiding places.

I can't see them needing much more than a 20gal, but I could be wrong.

I've kept a pair in a five gallon before and had them breed. As for height of a tank don't think it matters much to them what they do like to have is lot of hiding places.

I hate to say this but yes, they are jumpers, and the tank will need to be covered
