Tank is 24 x 12 x 15 inches. Planted quite heavily.

3 platys (all female)
3 guppies (all male)
8 x-ray tetras
6 corydoras
2 bolivian rams
1 bristlenose catfish

im not very experienced but would say this is too much

What if I left out the rams and took the tetras down to 6?

OK thought about it some more - how about

3 male guppies
3 female platys
3 honey gouramis
1 BN plec
6 x-ray tetras

I'd consider dropping the BN plec as well, as it's going to be 6 inches by themselves.

Also, guorami's are a bit sensitive to bad water, so with such a small tank, you might want to opt for a hardier species.

Definately leave the rams out, they will get stressed, and again, with such a small tank, bad water will be an issue very quickly.

If it was me, I would make a choice:

either:

Gouramis (1 male, 2 female )
AND
x-rays
PLUS plants

Or
Platys AND guppies

Personally, I think that the "colourful stuff", like platies, mollys, swordtales, guppies etc, never look very good mixed in with tetra's expecially.
