Regarding my now 13 week nonexistant cycle as talked about in my first thread; http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=296243 I beleave the load on the filter is just too much so im ditching it and tonight i ordered a tetratec ex600 (keeping with the tertatec tank and heater  )

For the past 8 days i upped the water changes to 50-75% and although this dropped the ammonia, made the water more clear no nitrites or nitrates are present. Basicly im going to start fresh with this tank and scrub it down, but will still have to carry out a fish in cycle as ive nowere else to put the fish i have

Just like to say big thanks to all who answered my questions :good:

neil.

its a fish in cycle as i was badly advised by yip you guessed it the pet shop

So you're basically doing a Fish-in cycle all you can do now is constantly test your water and do water changes. Have you read the thread on Fish-in cycling in the Beginners Resource section (link in my sig)?

Just so you know you technically didn't start cycling the tank until you put the fishies in. From that point you are adding Ammonia, that the fish are producing. Now you are waiting for the bacteria to grow that will process the Ammonia in Nitrites, once they start growing you'll be waiting for the bacteria that process the Nitrite into Nitrate. All this time you need to be doing at least one daily water change to keep the Ammonia and Nitrite levels low enough so that they don't kill off the fish.
