125g Need Stocking Advice

I have a 125g tank with a sand substrate some bog wood and rocks. Im moving the Pacus out and will most likely only have a pleco in here. He can be moved if needed. I would like to only have maybe 4 fish in here total one being some type of eel. Any suggestions on what I can get. And honestly Im not looking to spend $75+ on one fish if I dont have too.

if you're looking at eels, i'd say spiny eels. morays are brackish and i think require a bigger tank. spinys are purely freshwater. the tire-track and fire eel is out due to your small tank size. you could still consider the peacock or the zigzag, with the max length of around 10" and 6" respectively.

You could also look at Polypterus, there are a number that would go nicely in a 125gall tank
