Alrighty, so need opinions/suggestions whatever.
This is what we would like to get for our 125gal tank...
If something looks wrong or needs to be changed in some way, please feel free to say so (and explain why please :D)

1 Black Ghost Knife
6 Clown Loaches
6 Cories (that we already have)
3-5 more Cories (that we'll get.. probably get a different kind if we can't find skunk or julii)
10-15 Platy (currently have)
1 Golden Panchax Killifish (owned)
6 Tiger Barb
6 Green Tiger Barb
6 Rosy or Gold Barb
4 Clown Pleco
6 Australian Rainbowfish (that's what they were labelled at Petsmart. They looked exactly like the other more expensive Rainbowfish that they had *shrugs*)
2 Peacock Eels

And 2 maybes....
6 Giant Danio
2-4 more Golden Panchax Killifish (1 male, the rest female)

If everything sounds fine, other than the fish we already have (that will go in to the tank first, platy, cory, killifish)..... which fish should we get first if it matters? I know the peaceful ones are ok to add.. like the additional cory, and the rainbows, etc but just wondering about some of the others like the BGK, eels, barbs. Not sure on their aggression when they're small, but would they be better added last?

All looks good to me, add the ghost asap, it will get used to the other fish and will not see them as something to munch on, there reputation is unfounded IME, mine is extremely peaceful and has never bothered a single other fish, including neons, rasboras or corys and certainly has no issue with any larger fish.

Thanks a bunch minx :) I hope you're right and ours turns out to not want to munch on the smaller fish lol

Austrailian rainbows are fine and everything, but they are hybrids (not pure) In the rainbow "world" they are very very frowned upon.

Buy your rainbows from a breeder.

I see you are from SC as well. What city? If we are close enough you can come pick out the ones you want from my tank, and I'lll give you a special price. The fish I currently have for sale are the offspring of the fish in my signature. Turquoise rainbow (and lake kubutu or blue rainbow) or Melanotaenia lacustris by scientific name.

I'm in Columbia, so kinda far it seems heh.
We didn't know why they were so much cheaper than the rest of them. They were priced at $2, while the others were $11... that's why we sorta gravitated towards them lol.

Columbia is an hour and a half to 2 hours from where I am. I won't be charging $11 for them...that's way too much since is costs just a few dollars to raise a fish.

The only problem that may occur would be with the Eels

If they are under 6" then they will require a sand substrate and will definitely struggle to compete for food against boisterous (at feeding times) species like barbs, Rainbows, Clown Loach and even to some extent the corys.

Lol... 1-2hrs is probably more than my DH would want to drive. He complains about having to drive 25mins to get to the LFS, or the 10mins it takes to get to the Petsmart down the road :p lol
I'll talk to him though! I doubt we'll be able to take you up on your offer, but thanks so much for making it!!!

*nods* Someone here said that they were picky eaters. Do you think putting more food in after lights out would work?
As for substrate, it's sand throughout most of the tank w/ eco-complete in a small portion of it :D

not so much picky, but they seem to need the food to be right under their noses before they will take it,

They will most likely take up residence in a cave somewhere in the tank so it will probably be best to target feed them.
Feeding after lights makes it easier for them but still doesn't guarantee they find the food.

hand feeding them (along with the BGK) in the long run may also be an option

OO that would be so fun if they learned to take food from our hands!! :D
I have a turkey baster that I was planning on using to feed the BGK, guess the eels will be fed that way as well :)

If you can hand feeding them is a great way to make sure they get enough.

My ghost hand feeds and it was pretty easy to get him to do it, you can start with the baster, drop a little to where he/they are, then over a period of weeks, they will learn when food is coming, especially if you feed the same time each day, the movement of the lid gets mine out and up every time.

Slowly raise the height the food is from their cave so they have to come to you for it, eventually they wont think twice and will be up for food as soon as you open the top. Eels might be more challenging though.
