Hi guys im thinking about getting a smal tank for my lil daughters room.
it will only be an 11 gallon tank as it will be sitting ontop of her chest of drawers.

from what you see in my sig what do you think should move across?

Im thinking the 5 swordtails but is 11 gallons enough room for them??

Not really.

Personally I'd go with either shell dwellers or heavily planted with some micro rasboras.

Im goign to be moving some of my fish from my main tank which is detailed in my sig i wont be buying anything new.

i think she would like a small shoal of small fish. like tiger barbs or neons. thats what i would do. with lots of plants and a peagravel bottom. it would look cool. :good:

i will be using my very fine white gravel that i have left over form my other tank.

I would say it's not enough room for that many swordtails, maybe 2, but that wouldn't give you a good m/f ratio. I would say the six cardinal tetras.

I think she would like the cherry barbs and the rosy barbs. They're pretty colors, cute, and fun to watch. They would fit perfectly into an 11 gallon.

Cherry Barbs, Rosy Barbs,Neon Tetras and Cardinal Tetras should all be fine. I'd go with a couple cherry or rosy barbs and a small shoal of Neons.

I go with Fate's suggestion, that should make a lovely tank.

The people who recommend tiger barbs and rosy barbs for an 11 gallon- have you really seen these fish? Rosy barbs grow large, and tiger barbs are extremely boisterous, they need more room. It is never a good idea to recommend fish you don't know.

i wouldnt dream of putting my tigers and cherrys into a smaller tank the 3 cherrys have terrortary issues as it is in a 45 gallon
and the tiger barbs are only small at the mo but there bloody nuts!!!

Ivge got to admit my rosy's are quite relaxed and are not as bostrous (sp) as the cherrys
