Ok, I have a 10 gallon that I was thinking of setting up and I was trying to decide on what to put in it. Here are some of the fish I was considering:

Bumblebee gobies : about 8 -- I dunno if I would be able to feed them livefood all the time though... I know they need brackish
Mudskippers : I /really/ want these. How many could I have? What sort of filtration would I use? I know they need land... Do they need brackish?
Betta + cories : Male betta, plus 4-5 cories -- I have cories in my main tank, and I've had bettas before... How active are bettas?
Kuhlie loaches : Never had these before. Would I be able to keep them in a 10gallon? I know they like groups of 4 +
Black Phantom Tetras + cories : I love my phantoms in my main tanks and maybe I could get some in here with a few corries. 7-8 phantoms, 4 cories.
Neons + cories : Neons are a bit smaller so maybe 10 and 4 cories
Crabs: Apparently they like brackish and land, that's easily provided. I do want something that'll live longer than a few months though...
Bubble Eye goldfish : Just one. I know I can barely have any scenery in the tank. I know you are generally supposed to have 20 gallons per goldfish + and extra 10 for each additional goldfish. With a few extra water changes he should be okay, though, right?

**note** I know that some of these proposed stockings are a little bit high, but I can and will do water changes as often as needed, as much as needed.

Bumblebee gobies: 8 would be too much

Mudskippers: No. They need land and brackish, and 10 gallon would be way too small

Betta + cories: Depends on betta's personality, but should be fine

Kuhli loaches: 4 should be okay

Crabs: Probably 2 or 3 in a proper setup. Depending on the species, would live several years

Yea, they're brackish. I think I'll go for Kuhlie loaches. Does anyone else have any opinions?

Khulis aren't a great choice for the main fish in a tank seeing as they spend so much of their time hiding and only tend to be active in the bottom half of the tank.

Personally I'd go for a pair of dwarf puffers.

Hmm.. You're right, ombomb, I've heard khulie loaches are noctornal and inactive. This is a little overstocked, but with good filtration and water changes I should be okay, I think:
6 Cories -- Pandas
5 African Dwarf Frogs
8 Neons
And maybe an apple snail
Does anybody have an opinion for this?

Too much!

Pandas and neons are both relatively delicate fish, not a good idea in a 10G, definitely not a good idea in an overstocked 10G.

:/

I really like the frogs....So... what other kind of fish, then? I don't want any livebearers... maybe a male betta? Would they get along? Or a few females? What other type of cory could I have?

You could get pygmy cories. Hard to find in most LFS, but they only get to be 3cm long. I've been looking for them myself but can't seem to find em.

Another good 10 gallon option are any of the small "rasboras" (which are mostly in the Boraras and Microrasbora genuses). Tiny and attractive. Again, hard to find at LFS however.

Along more commonplace lines, Harliquins or White Clouds should be fine in a small tank like that.

I've seen some great little carachins in one of my LFS's called Lampeyes. About half the size of a neon, with a bright blue stripe just above the eye.

Maybe endlers too?

You're seeking pretty much the same type combo for your 10 gallon as me. I wouldn't put more than 4 cories and 4 ADFs in there though. That right there is gonna make it pretty bottom heavy...which the frogs and cories actually like.

If your tank is already cycled and stable with all residents having been added and settled.....a few neons would probably be fine.

I myself will probably get some harlequins for the top/middle, but can't finally decide between them and the neons and maybe a couple of platies myself.

Also....have you thought of shrimp? There are a wide variety available for fresh water. Ghost shrimp are good community members and the most common. They will also eat anything, including fish poop.
