A coworker has a 10G well established tank.
She just asked me if i want it - FREE.
It has a pleco, 2 angel fish, 2 zebra danios and an ADF in it.

What to do....
I have NO room for another tank.
Egads!
Anyone in Madison, WI area want/need this tank?!?

Unless you're planning on getting a larger tank or getting rid of the pleco and angelfish......

What about getting rid of those fish and adding some guppies? Guppies are pretty :)

If I lived near you I would take it and put all the fish but the angels in my 120 gallon. Afraid they may get nipped or eat my smaller fish.

I would take it though...come on when can you get a free 10 gallon? Then if anyone says "OMG You payed $100 for that female betta set-up?" You can say, "Well I practically got it for free because I got this 10 gallon free."  ;)

Now you guys....

You KNOW that I would NEEVVVVVER be able to get fish in my care and then " get rid of them"... right?
And lord knows I do NOT need another tank. Anywhere.

I was thinking that I could transfer the ADF to my girly betta tank at least, should I get this tank...

Why would I need to get rid of the pleco AND the angelfish??

They'll get way too big for a ten gallon, unless you're planning on upgrading.

You could ship them to me. I wish I could pick them up, but I can't drive and I live in Florida. You can imagine me with a car...I'd be driving all over the country picking up fish that need a good home. :p I don't have ANY plecs in my 120 gallon and I think I could use one. :p Then maybe my mom would want the angels for her 55 gallon and I could take the tiger barbs and the black skirts. :dunno:

Maybe you could just donate the plec and angels to a *good* LFS and just think they will be able to have a really good home once someone buys them.

well the plec will need to be moved as it will get way to big for a 10 gal.
The angels the same thing really.
Danios need to be in larger groups so you either need to 'pass on' the two you have or get at least 3 more. Also the 10g is to small for danios I'm afraid.

Oh and ADF's are social little fellas so I'd recommend getting a buddy. The only amount to 2" of fish so hardly anything really.

If you accept the tank you need to do the responsible thing and house the fish correctly.

actually, taking the tank and passing along the fish would be really good for both you and the fish. the angels and plecos are going to get stunted in that tiny tank (presuming they haven't already). offer them up as freebies to the various LFS -- they'll probably take them. then keep the 10gal as a back up if you ever need to quarantine, hospitalize, etc. etc.

does anyone else think the ADF would be compatible with the betta girls? i'm not that familiar with frogs...

Get it! You could even get another girly betta setup  . I'm sure you could make room, have a spring clean and get rid of as much stuff as you can. The ADF will be fine with your girls. And as for the angel and plec, I'm sure you can find a good home. Think of it as another rescue where you just need to find someone near you to complete it. Go on- you know you want to.

None of those fish are suitable for the tank as already mentioned so I'd take the tank and re-home the fish. The ADF could be moved in with a betta - they usualy get along fine - and then you'll have a free 10 gallon to do what ou please with. :)
