10g Agressive

Well what about semi-aggressive? For semi-aggressive you could get 1-3 opaline gouramis. Or for aggressive you could get 1 male bettas and 2-3 julii corys or 4-5 female bettas in a tank with plenty of plants and hiding places. But you will need to cycle the tank first and there are pinned topics towards the top of the names of the topics on here.

Opaline AKA three spot gouramis can reach 5" in length, I think just one in a ten gallon would be pushing the limits. If you want really aggressive fish, look into dwarf puffers. There are dozens of topics in the oddballs institute, so look up some of those before making a new topic :)

For a 10 gallon you could get a few different types of puffer. C.irrubesco (Red-tailed red eye puffer) or C.lorteti (Red eye puffer) or a dwarf puffer. Try www.pufferlist.com , tells you alot about them :)

I guess agressive fish just appeal to some people..I personally prefer a peaceful community, or species tanks for other fish, but as long as your providing the fish with good care its your choice which fish you get really.

Some people do, but that can be boring. Aggressive fish usually apeal to people because they have "character" :)

i have loads of fish with character and there not aggressive.

theres a pretty big difference.

why dont people ask for fish with character?

most aggressive fish have more character. tetras have no character or anything. my severum, Rainbow cichlid, and Festivum. they have character as do my Lima and Bichir. they take food right out of my hand

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I would like cichlids myself but the dwarf ones are hard to find. How many can I keep?......2.

Oi, I object to that statement about tetras having no character or anything! IME some have great characters, are friendly, curious, playful and will eat out of your hand just like your lima and birchir do.

It's just a case of different fish for different folks. SamUK likes having community fish that interact with each other (not necessarily hounding each other to the death or eating each other either) and I do too.

I would like a tank with some unusual, larger or oddball fish too, but that's not because I'm bored with my community tank - on the contrary I'm upscaling it this summer - but because there's so many fish I would like to own and they're just not always compatible!

Stupid fish should learn to behave themselves in company.

Setting up such a small tank, IMHO would cause more problems beside the aggression issue. Do most of the aggressive fish grow large, bigger than 5 inches?
