So my female guppy that I've raised since birth was getting pretty big, and this morning she gave birth (finally, I've been waiting for months). I was hoping she would have them soon as I was having fry-withdrawls
Plus I just had an older male die(old age) and a younger male die(unknown cause), so my tank was looking pretty bare. I found 9 of them this morning, and when I got home from work this afternoon I found 3 more, but unfortunalty when I was catching them with a cup I squished one
Poor thing, I feel horrible.
So that brings me to 11 fry, 10 of them are normal, but one is lighter colored and has pinkish/redish eyes, so I'm assuming its albino? At first it looked like it had no eyes at all and that kind of freaked me out, you can barely see them! I didn't find him till later in the morning because he's practicly invisible in the tank.
Usually I'm only able to save 2 or 3 fry, so I was pretty excited when I caught 11 of them, I think since the big male is gone then they have a better chance of not getting eaten.
So I thought I'd share that with everybody, I thought it was pretty cool as the parents aren't albino, but I guess they could be carrying the gene or something? Oh, and are albinos rare of anything?
