I just put fish in my 10 gallon tank. I got 3 mollys and 3 guppys..and somehow a lil shrimp got in the mix. He looks like a ghost shrimp but I am going to the store to make sure what he really is. Anyway, I was wondering how many fish I could put in there. Or what other fish go good with this mix. I am not sure I want to get any more b/c I think one is pregnant and I think another one is pregnant as well. Sooo...I am not sure if I should get anymore. I was thinking about getting one more female guppy b/c the lady at the store gave me 2 males and one female I think. I dont want those 2 males chasing my one female all the time. What are some other fish ideas if I can add more fish?? There is somethign in my tank that looks like a rock and has this white long thing sticking out of it..it was moving today..what is it does anyone know?? Im new to this whole thing.

thanks!

did you cycle your tank? If not, you should read up about it before adding any more fish. I think your tank is already stocked. 3 mollies grow to 4 inches so we'd be looking at 12 inches of fish already. guppies grow to about 2 inches so we'd be looking at another 6 inches of fish, which would be enough, if not overstocked. If the fish have fry the other fish will probably eat them unless you have LOTS of hiding spots, to which some will survive. guppies and mollies need to be at a ratio of 2 females for every male, so I say bring back the male and switch it for a female. Also, mollies need salt or sparkling clean water, since you are already stocked (if not overstocked) you would need to add aquarium salt or do water changes every other day or so.

i have some hiding spots but not many... what should I do? I only have one other tank and its a 1 gallon and it has no heater, just a filter.

then the fry will be eaten, unless you put them in a breeding net. Keep in mind, they are hard to catch, tiny, and will have to be moved to a new tank, as breeding nets don't give them much space to move. I think you should rehome the mollies, and get either more guppies, or platys, cories, and otos are good too.
