Hi,
I'm new to the forum and new to the hobby and have a question. I currently have a 10 gallon tank with 1 male betta and 3 pepper corys. They get along very well, in fact my betta has taken up trolling the bottom of the tank just like the corys after he discovered their food down there it is quite funny. My question though is can I put anything additional in my small tank. Do you think I have my maximum now. I was hoping you might be able to suggest a solitary type fish that would grow no more than 2 inches and would get along with the others. I'm not sure if I have room for any that need to school. I don't think I want any additional bottom dwellers. I look forward to any info you can give me.

hi and welcome to the forum! I think you can put more fish in there. If you need to know anything about your Betta, you'll get anything you need on the Bettas section of this forum

Peace

how well planted/decorated is your tank? my betta is fine with bottom dwellers like cories shrinp and snails, but some wild type guppies i put in with him stressed him out so much that he got sick and i had to get rid of the guppies. id say try some snails and shrinp. they are great fun to watch and their actions are quite different than fish. they will also help to keep the tank nice and clean. you could up your cories too.

just a side note...if your betta ever gets sick, having him in with cories will limit your options for some treatments unless you are treating him in a q tank...i recently went thu this and was something i did not consider while stocking the tank. inverts will limit you even more in some cases...just something to think about.
