10 Gallon Hospital Tank

Can someone please tell me how to work out u.k gallons to u.k lts and the other way about thanks.I need to buy a hospital tank tomorrow and as far as i know i should buy a 10 gal or more but how many lts is this,its for a sick gourami

Just as a curiousity, what's the difference between a UK gallon and an American gallon?

Not sure about the exact difference but I think UK gallons are larger than US gallons by .5 or something like that.
